Learn More About Trinity
Church Mission
To glorify Him by sharing the Good News of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ, and by 'making disciples' of all people through Christian training, nurturing, and encouragement through outreach, both locally and abroad.
Worship
The psalmist said, "I was glad they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord." The doors are open at Trinity Lutheran Church for worship celebrating the grace of God received through the Word and the Sacrament. Year-round we offer one regular Sunday service and communion weekly. During Lent and Advent we have additional Wednesday night church services.
Pastoral Care
What does the Pastor do? Besides baptisms, weddings, confirmations, funerals, preaching, teaching, and offering Holy Communion, he is also leading, administrating, praying, comforting, visiting the sick and caring for all of Trinity's members and friends. He also provides premarital, couples, individual and family counseling.
Christian Education
Our mission at Trinity is to lead all to know Jesus as their personal Savior. We have many opportunities including our Christ centered school, (preschool through fifth grade), Sunday School, (September - June), Confirmation classes, and Vacation Bible School. Christian education is available for all.
Music Ministry
The Music Ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church endeavors to continue the excellent traditions of our Lutheran Musical Heritage. Our mission built upon Luther's viewpoint that music is indeed a gift of God to be used in His praise, and to proclaim the Gospel. The Music Ministry is truly a parish music program and therefore dual in nature. In our Lutheran school, children are instructed in regular music education classes. Appropriate hymns are taught and memorized. The children also prepare music for midweek chapel, Sunday worship services, and various festivals. In our church, our Senior Choir provides musical leadership in divine Worship, and prepare anthems and other music. Our pipe organ still serves as the primary instrument for leading our congregation. Instrumentalists volunteer their time and talents to enrich our worship. Our Bell Choir contributes to the music ministry with special music through the year in worship and praise to our Lord. Other facets of our Music Ministry include singing for shut-ins, worship planning, and providing tuning and maintenance for our organ and pianos. Many opportunities for Christian services for all ages exist in Trinity's Music Ministry. Please join us.
Family Life
To enrich and deepen the spiritual life of our families here at Trinity, we have Advent and Lenten devotional books, Portals of Prayer devotional booklets for every day, special bulletin inserts for families and even Children's Bulletins every Sunday for our youngsters. There are Family Retreats at Camp Arcadia, only a hours drive away, that offer quality Christian vacations for the entire family.
Men's Ministry
The Men's Club is the primary men's ministry at Trinity. They are responsible for the annual Christmas tree and wreath sale at Trinity. Although many hours are spent during the sale, many hours of labor go on beforehand trimming and pruning the trees. The proceeds from the sale are donated to church, school, and community projects. We appreciate the countless hours of volunteer time the Men's Club gives to our congregation and school. New members are always welcome.
Women's Ministry
Our women's ministry involves a kaleidoscope of areas. The Ladies Society sponsors an annual Harvest Bazaar, the profits of which are given for missions and used for the needs of the church and community. Receptions after services, funeral luncheons, kitchen up keep, altar flowers, and remembering the sick and shut-ins are ways that the Ladies Society ministers to our congregation. This is open to all women in the congregation. Please feel free to join us! Other women's ministries within our congregation include the Tuesday morning quilting group, and Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML). The quilting group works diligently sewing and hand-tying quilts throughout the year. The quilts are sent to Relief agencies in the missionary field. Our LWML aids in the spiritual uplifting of the ladies in our congregation and with gifts of monetary donations to the missions of the Lutheran Church.
Youth Ministry
The youth ministry is responsible for involving young people in the work of Christ and promoting genuine Christian fellowship among them. The Youth assist the congregation and community in many ways - through ushering, and servant events. They sponsor a Lenten soup supper, Easter breakfast, spaghetti dinners and help with the Spring clean-up.
Christian Fellowship
As the body of Christ we enjoy being together at Church Meals, visiting after church at coffee hours, and at soup suppers during Lent. Once a month our church family and friends enjoy a Pancake Brunch and during the months of September - June enjoy fellowship at a Potluck Luncheon following the morning worship service. So that we may become better acquainted with our new members, we have receptions in their honor. Our church has a dartball league that travels and competes with other dartball leagues.
Community Outreach
Christ like love is shown through many different activities here a Trinity. Each year the students of Trinity Lutheran School and the congregation collect food items for donation to a local food pantry. Every Sunday the "Lutheran Hour" is aired over the local radio station and reaches many who are shut in, ill or unchurched as does our own radio program, "Chapel Lane," presented every Sunday morning at 8:00 by Pastor Rahn on WTME 101.5. Trinity sponsors a service of "Lessons & Carols" on Sunday afternoon of the Old Christmas Weekend as a Christ centered event for the Manistee community.
Lay Ministry
Lay ministry involves every facet of our congregation. From ushering and door-greeters, to spring yard clean up, service on altar guild, working at the Sauerkraut Supper, and serving on a board - we see laypeople volunteering their time and talents every day at Trinity. Trinity also sends a Lay Delegate to the LCMS Triennial District Convention.
